The Center is pleased to learn of the successful National Register of Historic Places nomination for Beck’s Knob Cemetery in Chattanooga. Center director Dr. Carroll Van West, fieldwork coordinator Savannah Knies, and graduate assistant Tori Peck assisted project partners at Hurst United Methodist Church and the Chattanooga African American Cemetery Group on this important property, and we are glad to see it receiving deserved recognition.
